8-channel DAC ES9038PRO*2

Since the ES9038PRO was already used in the M17, Q7, K9 Pro SS and M15S, FiiO now has a lot of experience with the chip and can therefore take the audio quality to a new level. The FiiO R9 has two ES9038PRO DACs, one for the left and one for the right channel. Each DAC chip contains 8 independent D/A converters, and these 8 channels are connected in parallel to obtain a fully differentiated output.

Fully networked HiFi audio architecture - Five amplification stages

The FiiO R9 delivers impressive audio performance thanks to its five-stage audio architecture with carefully designed IV, LPF, gain, pre-amplification and current extension stages. A key part of the audio circuit is the OPA2211 operational amplifiers, which are manufactured using the silicon germanium (SiGe) CMOS manufacturing process, which ensures the chip's excellent performance. The variable gain and variable supply voltage result in 5 levels of gain, allowing you to precisely adjust the volume you want. Whether you're using IEMs or hard-to-drive headphones, you'll have a great listening experience.

Carefully designed motherboard - every inch considered

The FiiO R9's internal power supply, digital parts, DAC and headphone amplifier are all located on separate boards. Additionally, there are metal shields to completely isolate the DAC and THX headphone amplifier sections. These four main components of the audio circuit are housed on independent boards to avoid crosstalk, ensuring that the processed audio signals and their output are precise, clean and maintain their dynamics.

Fine-tuned power supply circuitry - Dual DC/AC power supplies

The FiiO R9 features a new low-noise, high-efficiency and long-lasting industrial-grade 40W power supply that supports an ultra-wide input voltage range (85~305VAC), can work in a wide temperature range (-40℃~85℃) and is designed for a lifespan of 500,000 hours. The FiiO R9 can also be powered by an external DC power supply*, allowing you to pair the R9 with a powerful linear power supply that provides its own sound. In addition, when the R9 is connected to an external power supply, you can enable the "Ground Lift" function to reduce crosstalk and achieve purer sound. *External DC power supplies of 15V-3A are supported.

Separate analog and digital power supplies

The FiiO R9 features separate power supplies for the digital and analog parts of the audio circuit, eliminating crosstalk between the digital/analog parts and providing better isolation and shielding between the two parts.

Finely structured analogue part

The analog part of the audio circuit has a finely structured multi-stage power supply, including digital-to-analog conversion, LPF, pre-amp processing, gain drive and other power supply stages. All the technology and the incredible variety of functions are made very simple and clear with the 5.99"/15.21 centimeter touch display. With a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, this high-quality display shows off all its strengths. So you can not only hear your music in excellent quality, but also see it.

And if you don't feel like operating the player via the integrated touch display (for example, because you have it in your pocket or backpack), you will appreciate the "FiiO Link" app. Simply connect your smartphone to the M17 via WLAN (currently only Android is supported) or Bluetooth (iOS and Android) and control it elegantly via your smartphone. It couldn't be easier.

This results in a maximum runtime of 10.6 hours (depending on the volume setting, the headphones used and the file format selected).
