Visaton Aurum floorstanding loudspeaker in K+T 6/2011

Aurum is a floorstanding loudspeaker developed by Ronald Waßen and Markus Schäpermeier. It contains a Visaton broadband BG 20, as was already included in Notch, CT 230 or CT 250. In the proposed design, its frequency range is extended upwards by a pressure chamber driver with a horn. The driver is a Monacor MRD-34PA, which plays into a Dayton H08RW horn. The crossover has a slope of 18 dB/octave. This results in a flat frequency response; the decay spectrum is fast, apart from minor resonances. The non-linear distortions are low, especially at low levels.
