Cantale is a high-end floor-standing speaker with coaxial speakers from ASE which is built on the basis of Scan-Speak chassis. Cantale has good omnidirectional behavior and a wide transmission range of 50 - 40000 Hz. The ASE speaker 18CU/8741T00-R/4 is used in Cantale. Gerd Lommersum developed this speaker. The crossover consists of a 2nd order high pass (12 dB per octave) for the tweeter. The woofer is connected to a 2nd order low pass (12 dB per octave). A suction circuit smooths the frequency response of the woofer by 750 Hz. The frequency response of the speaker box is very balanced on axis from 50 Hz to 12000 Hz and even extends up to 30 kHz. The decay spectrum (waterfall diagram) is flawless. The nonlinear distortions do not exceed 0.8% at 90 dB (1m) above 300 Hz.
