People perceive sound very differently. Many people find the tonality - the balanced frequency response - important, others complain that they hear several loudspeakers rather than the stage when they close their eyes. For the latter group of people, who make up the minority of our customers, broadband speakers and ideal coaxial speakers (called ideal when the tweeter is not placed in front of the woofer) are the solution they are looking for for relaxed music listening. Korona, which was developed by Berd Timmermanns, uses the Seas Excel C16N001/F as a point sound source. It has a magnesium membrane and, instead of the dust protection dome, an integrated 26 mm tweeter with a silk dome. The bass drive of the C16N001/F is suitable for large, low-tuned speakers; the problem is that you need a very long bass reflex tube for this. Bernd Timmermanns therefore used a passive membrane that is installed on the side of the speaker housing.
