Long Tall Sally is a two-and-a-half-way floor-standing loudspeaker. Long Tall Sally is a bass reflex loudspeaker with a chassis from Monacor. The loudspeaker contains the following loudspeaker chassis: - a Monacor MPT-165 tweeter - two Monacor SP-60/4 mid-woofers - two Monacor SP-60/4 woofers The loudspeaker was developed by Bernd Timmermanns. The crossover consists of: - a 2nd order high pass (12 dB / octave) for the tweeter. - a 2nd order low pass (12 dB / octave) for the mid-woofer. - a 2nd order low pass (12 dB / octave) for the woofer. The frequency response of the loudspeaker is balanced. The decay spectrum is almost flawless. The nonlinear distortions at medium volumes (90 dB, 1 m) are below 1.2% above 300 Hz.

The high-end kit is equipped with baked enamel coils in the important places to reduce the microphonic effect (the current through the coil generates a magnetic field, which in turn sets the winding in motion. This movement induces voltages in the coil, which are added to the useful signal. The tighter the winding of the coil, the less the useful signal is distorted.) The capacitors for the Monacor MPT-165 - where quality is particularly important - are high-quality Audaphon MKP CAP Superior with 400 V.
